Associate Vice President of Instruction Finalist Meet & Greet: Dr. Xeturah Woodley (20210119-00003)
Candidate Bio:
Dr. Xeturah Woodley is a Womanist scholar with a background in community organizing and educational activism. She holds a BA in African American Studies and Psychology, a Master of Social Sciences degree, and a Ph.D. is in Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in critical pedagogies and learning technologies. Dr. Woodley is also a community college graduate and received certificates in Entrepreneurship and Online Teaching & Learning from Central New Mexico Community College.
Dr. Woodley currently works as an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in Learning Design and Technology at New Mexico State University, where she researches culturally responsive teaching and learning in online environments. Her most recent administrative role was as a community college vice president of academic affairs. She has more than 25 years of experience as a faculty member and eight years of experience as a community college administrator.
Dr. Woodley is the recipient of numerous awards for her work, including the Faculty Outstanding Women's Award, CNM Excellence Awards, and Women Who Dare to Dream Award. Her community work focuses on meeting the educational needs of those most marginalized and vulnerable in our society. Dr. Woodley is a social justice advocate and values the difference higher education can make in the lives of our students.
